Katarina began ice-skating at age five. Her success allowed her to show her talent and gain entry into a Karl-Marx-Stadt Special School for gifted kids. It was here that she met her coach Jutta Muller. Witt became a star in the year 1982 when she was second in the World Championships at Copenhagen. Since then, Witt's grace and beauty have captured the attention of everyone. Olympic success Katarina Wit was awarded gold medals in women's ice skating at the Sarajevo Winter Games 1984 after a highly competitive and intense contest. The following year, she won another contest that was even more competitive. Free skates were a loss, but her gold medal resulted from her performances at both mandatory figures (short programme) and mandatory figures. Witt became the first female to win in both male and female figure skating in the past since Sonja Hiene. Hall of Fame Witt, who had achieved success in the world of film and television acting, then returned to figure skating in 1994 to compete at the Lillehammer Winter Games 1994. People were captivated by her despite the fact that she only finished seventh. Witt's admission into the World Figure Skating Hall of Fame took place in 1995.
